Contribute 4 & WordPress 2.1
In the process of moving I’ve updated the blogs to use WordPress version 2.1. There’s a number of updates in this version and it seems pretty good. There is one problem though - I’ve had to stop my tests of Contribute (version 4) because it just won’t work with it.
I’d originally though it was my new server. However, I tried uploading the old version 2.0.x of WordPress and that works fine. It’s only when I update that working blog to version 2.1.x that it stops communicating with Contribute.
The problem shows itself as unreliable connections, inability to reliably download templates, inability to reliably post (sometimes with failed attempts showing as blank postings on the blog), inability to download a list of postings to edit, etc, etc, etc.
The funny thing is that Ecto 2.4.2 carries on as if nothing has changed. Very poor programming on the behalf of Macromedia / Adobe.
I’ll be looking at Contribute CS3 as soon as I can but for now my trials with Contribute are at an end.
Update
I’ve now had a preliminary look at Contribute CS3.
